A floating floor moves. In a wide open room, over a slab, or anywhere with heavy rolling traffic, that movement turns into gaps at the seams and a hollow sound underfoot. Glue down removes it by bonding the flooring directly to the substrate.
The trade off is that a glued floor is only as good as what it is glued to. The substrate has to be flat, clean and dry, and the adhesive has to match the material and the conditions. Get those right and the floor stays put for its full life.
