Tile Installation

Tile installation in Jacksonville, FL

Tile installation across Jacksonville and Northeast Florida. Floors, walls, backsplashes and wet areas, laid flat, spaced right and grouted to hold up.

Flat, straight and planned before the first tile

Most tile complaints come down to three things: lippage where one edge sits proud of the next, grout lines that drift out of parallel, and a sliver cut at the most visible wall. None of those are fixed after the fact. They are decided by the substrate prep and the layout.

Large format tile makes all of it less forgiving, because a floor that was flat enough for a small mosaic will show every high spot under a two foot plank. We flatten first, dry lay the layout, and start the run where the cuts land somewhere you will not be looking.

What the work covers

What our tile installation service includes

What a tile installation covers, floor or wall.

01

Substrate prep

Flattening the floor or wall and setting the right backer or membrane, because tile does not correct a surface, it exposes it.

02

Layout and dry lay

Planning the grid so cuts fall in the least visible places and the lines stay parallel to the room, not to whatever is out of square.

03

Floor tile

Setting porcelain, ceramic and stone with full coverage under each tile, which is what keeps corners from cracking under load.

04

Wall tile and backsplashes

Kitchen backsplashes, accent walls and wainscot, cut cleanly around outlets, switches and cabinet returns.

05

Wet areas

Showers, tub surrounds and floors built over a waterproofed assembly rather than relying on the grout to hold water back.

06

Grout and sealing

Grouting to the right joint width for the tile, then sealing where the material and the room call for it.

How we work

Why homeowners choose JDF for tile installation

The same four rules apply to a backsplash or a whole floor.

01

We measure the surface before we quote the tile

Flatness and square decide the prep, and the prep is most of what separates a good tile job from a bad one.

02

One crew for prep, tile and finish

Demo, substrate work, waterproofing and tile are all in house, so nothing gets blamed on the trade before.

03

Your home stays livable

Containment, floor protection on the path in and out, and daily cleanup are part of the job, not an upsell.

04

We close the punch list

Final walkthrough happens with you, and the small stuff gets fixed before we call it done.
